2019 is in full swing and we all know what that means – Camp is one month closer to being here! A new year, a new summer, and an opportunity for new memories. This also means new friends. Growing up as a Girl Scout, I learned the song “Make New Friends” and I think the lyrics are a great depiction of summer camp.

“Make new friends,
but keep the old.
One is silver,
the other is gold.
A circle is round,
it has no end.
That’s how long,
I will be your friend.”

Every year, we connect with friends from previous summers, but we meet new friends as well. Each year brings lots of changes, growth, and self-discovery. New friendships help to better us and give us different perspectives, while old friendships allow us to reminisce on memories and grow together. We are so glad that Camp allows us this unique opportunity to strengthen old friendships while also building new ones. We cannot wait to be back in the Piney Woods with our Huawni family, and to welcome new members to the Huawni Tribe!

Who are some of the best friends you met because of Camp? Comment and tag them below!
