"I am so thankful that the Huawni experience means so much to my boys. It has taught them so much that we as parents can't teach them about true friendships and relationships in the setting that proves you don't have to have the best and newest of everything to be happy!"

"I went to Camp Huawni for seven years as both a camper and a counselor. When I reflect back on my years at Camp, the thought that comes to mind is that it was a haven for me; a safe, fun, summer haven. The definition of "haven" is refuge. No better way to describe that jewel of a place deep in the piney woods. After being a counselor there I happen to know for a fact it was a haven for lots of kids. A place where EVERYone is loved, where EVERYone has someone to listen to them, laugh and play with them, or cry with them."

"Camp friends are the first ones you call to share good news or when you need a shoulder to cry on. Post camp, they are who you raise your kids with, who you meet at football games, and who you meet for lunch when you get out of the office. They are also the ones whose kids you hope and pray are eternally connected to your kids through friendships at Camp Huawni." |

"Camp has changed my life in so many positive ways. I have learned about life and the joy of outdoors, but most meaningful to me, friendship. Camp is my second home because the people I know there are my second family. We get to know each other better in two weeks than we get to know our school friends in an entire year. The fact that we can all come here and be ourselves, our most raw sense of selves, and accept and love each other is a blessing. I am so thankful for Camp Huawni, for the counselors that I have grown to love, and for the friends that will always be in my heart." |

"The staff, owners, and directors at Huawni set up this unmatched summer experience in a way that allows each camper to grow immeasurably. None of the growth that takes place is ever forced but instead, happens organically under those pine trees. The ways I grew personally are directly related to the investment made into my life from older campers, counselors, directors and owners. Experiencing Huawni for 15 summers gave me confidence in myself and in my friends. Come to think of it, I'm not under those pine trees now and I am still growing and benefiting from those tribe members who poured their summers into mine." |

"When you go to Camp Huawni for the first time, you might not be so confident with yourself. But quickly, you make new friends and you learn how to express yourself and be more confident. You discover your talents and how you can use them to make camp better for yourself and for others. As you get older, you become a leader and a role model for younger campers." |

"There is so much fun stuff to do at Camp Huawni! My favorite games were Uprising, Tyathlon (a triathlon named after counselor Ty Midkiff) and jumping on the Critter. Also, I really liked the Golden Pine Cone competition (which my team won) and the OC (obstacle course). The counselors were all really nice. They encouraged me to do the Tyathlon which was really hard but I still finished. All the other campers I met were really nice and I hope to see them next summer. And next year my twin sisters are coming...Lookout Camp Huawni!" |

"In one hundred years, it is not going to matter how much money you made, how big your house was, or what kind of car you drove...but what will matter is that you made a difference in the life of a child."

"I will forever relish in all the days of summer spent at Huawni. Seeing my friends from previous years, both campers and counselors alike on opening day was one of the happiest days of summer. And then we had the opening night skit to look forward to! Each year seemed better than the last. Now my daughter has her own wonderful Camp experiences to share. We are so very fortunate to have Camp Huawni." |
