It’s Play day day day day dayyyyyyyy!!! With so many kids expecting Play Day to be Wednesday morning, we knew we had to change it up and surprise them! Instead of playing “Chicken Train” during Flag Raising, we waited until just before Lunch. When the song played, the kids tried to scatter before being be thrown in the Critter Pond, but as is tradition, no kid came into the Dining Hall dry!

The afternoon was spent at Play Day and Uprising. Campers had a blast with Pie in the Eye, where they got to throw Cool Whip at a Counselor’s face! The older girls participated in the “Ice on the Counselor’s Back”, where they slowly poured a pitcher of ice water on a Counselor of their choice. They’ve learned that the slower they pour, the more the Counselors squirm! This year instead of the traditional Minnow Toss, we played a new game to see how fast the kids could fill up a bucket with a sponge!

The boys spent the afternoon in the woods playing Uprising, a version of Capture the Flag using pine cones as ammo to tag the other team. The boys said their favorite part was the cold watermelon after!

All of the cabins had a blast at Skit Night! Pine Bottom took home the Spirit Stick for coming up with a hilarious skit called “Vine Bottom.” The cabin turned Camp Huawni into internet famous vines! Cedar Flats finished in second place with a great skit about Camp Life: Expectations vs Reality. The oldest girls cabin, Pine Top, had the whole crowd cracking up, as they pretended to be fountains, spraying water everywhere!
