Happy Sunday everyone! Sundays at Camp are a little bit different than any other day of the week. It’s a chance for everyone to slow down and reminisce the past week of Camp before starting another fun-filled week! Sunday is one of my favorite days of Camp because we get the chance to enjoy the little moments of Camp, all while still having a fun day!

Sunday tradition- taking a Staff photo outside of the LRC!

Today started out with a late breakfast at 9AM (woohoo for sleeping in!) of scrambled eggs & blueberry muffin cake. Afterwards everyone grabbed their Bibles and journals and loaded the trailers to make our way to the Little Red Church. Senior Counselor Luke C. lead all of Camp in song, including traditional favorites Father I Adore You & He’s Got the Whole World. Afterwards TJ and our younger Campers went outside for a message while the bigs listened to a message from Luke C.
What makes Little Red Church so special isn’t the building it’s in, or even the songs we sing summer after summer- it’s that every Camper and Staffer, regardless of denomination or belief, can come just as they are. It’s a great time of reflection & peace for all of Camp.

In the afternoon, we had Choice! Choice gives Campers the opportunity to choose what they want to participate in for the afternoon, (hence the name). Campers choose between spending their day at the Pool, the Critter Pond, High Ropes, watching a movie in the Dining Hall, or (my personal favorite…) the famous, famous, MOST FAMOUS Hike! Today those who went on Hike put on their jeans & bug spray and made the trek out to Turtle Rock. For those who haven’t hiked out to this spot before, Turtle Rock gets it’s name from the large rock standing over Pinson Creek that looks like a turtle! Campers & staff spent their time playing in the water & eating watermelon prepped by Adam G.

LRC in the morning + Hike in the afternoon = Sunday smiles!

Thumbs up for getting to spend the whole afternoon at the Ropes Course!

Sundays are best spent at the Critter Pond!!

Tonight will mark the first round of the Wiffleball World Series! After dinner, all of Camp will paint up in their tribal red or blue & head onto the Front Lawn to play 8 innings of Camp’s favorite pastime. Tonight, Caddo and Tejas will split up & play on two separate fields. Tuesday night we will finish out the Series with our second round, so be on the look out to see who will come out on top!

Well, we’ve got one week of Camp under our belts, and an exciting week to look forward to before next Saturday. Parents, what are some things you’re hoping your Camper will experience before Closing Day?
