After another full day of activities, we ended Wednesday with the famous, famous, MOST FAMOUS, Skit Night! We rolled out the carpet in the dining hall as 9 cabins performed cabin skits. I’ve communicated in the past about how one of the biggest benefits of summer camp and Huawni for your child is that they really learn what it means to collaborate, and Skit Night is a fresh opportunity to do that. Where else does your child get to be creative and create a production, making their own decisions, with cabin mates that they may or may not have known very long, some of whom are very different from themselves? Last night was a growing opportunity, and a whole lot of fun for the kids.

Arturo leads Band Aid in their skit.

Sun Down performs their skit.

Berry Patch East squares off at Skit Night.

Pine Top lines up for their skit.

Thursday & Tribal Competition Team Announcements

Today we surprised the campers with Connect, which is a day where they scrap their regular schedule and choose to do whatever activities they wish. We’ll do that again for afternoon activities, and then tonight we have Talent Show. Following Talent Show will be our Tribal Competition Fire Ceremony, where our first-time two-week session campers will be inducted onto their tribal team, which will either be the Red Caddo or Blue Tejas. I’ll try and post teams as soon as possible. Until then, it’s another sunshiny day here at Camp Huawni!
