Last night after Opening Night Show campers retreated to the Front Lawn for a big game of Capture the Flag. Capture the Flag has been a long-standing night activity, and our counselors dressed up in various costumes, making the night extra special. Capture the Flag is a great activity to have on the first night, especially for our first-year campers. It helps get them out of their comfort zone, and soon campers are running in every direction helping their team to victory.

Girls Camp gathers around one of our counselors dressed as Batman.

The girls are getting prepared for a game of Capture the Flag!

Following Capture the Flag, campers had their first cabin time, where counselors huddle up cabins, lay down expectations for the week, and even create bucket lists. This is a neat time for campers to bond in the cabin before lights out.

This morning we woke up to a beautiful sunrise and gathered at Flagpole Hill for Flag Raising. At Flag Raising, cabins are given the opportunity to sing a song. Directors share the action of the day, we pledge the flag, and then walk to breakfast in the Dining Hall.

Today was loaded full of activities, including all four of our water activities, along with canoes.

We are eating dinner right now and soon we’ll be hiking over to the Initiation Pond (a.k.a iPond) for some cane pole fishing, s’mores, a campfire, and Sing Song.

I hope to give another update soon!
