As we make our way into our last full day of Session 2, we’ve been reflecting on the last 24 hours here at camp.

On Thursday morning everyone headed down to the archery range for the Archery Tournament. Some standout archers that competed were Bobby Crow, Ruth Mayfield, and Mateo Salmeron for the Blue Tejas and for the Red Caddo; Mandi Crow, Savannah Kee and Bo and Cooper Harrison. In the afternoon, campers were able to choose between the Critter Pond, the Swimming pool and the High Ropes Course.

Thursday evening, the famous, famous, MOST FAMOUS Celebration took place! The volleyball court was transformed into a tropical beach. Counselors were dressed head-to-toe in lei’s, Hawaiian shirts, and grass skirts. Campers participated in a sand castle building contest, deep sea fishing, face painting, hoola-hooping, a limbo contest and to end the night, everyone indulged in root beer floats! It was a perfect way to celebrate a fun-filled and exciting two weeks.

Currently, campers are sharing stories and memories under the Summer Tree and in the afternoon, we’ll take a hike over to the carving trees since a storm postponed it last week. We’re so excited to eat some dinosaur eggs!

Tonight is Initiation and after, we’ll find out which team will be taking home the coveted GOLDEN PINE CONE! Stay tuned for updates!
