A coed summer camp in the pineywoods of Texas! Phone Icon Call 817.768.3854

Kristan (1st yr at camp) draws her bow at the newly renovated, 14 lane archery course. Here's what she said about Huawni - 'You can't really begin to understand how amazing camp is until you go and experience it yourself!'

Our Summer Camp Activities

Activities…Where The Summer Fun Begins

Camp Huawni has over 50+ summer fun activities – really! The Huawni daily schedule is like your grandma’s secret recipe – it has been carefully knit together over the past 48 years to make your day a ridiculously fun one. Campers, you’ll get to dive into 6 daily activities per day – 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon.

Parents – one key ingredient is that nearly every daily activity happens outdoors. Yes ma’am….we’re an outdoor camp by design. Because we excel in sporting our outdoor camp personality, we are finding that your kiddos are now rediscovering, in a sense, how to play outside. The funny and neat-o thing is…your kids are embracing it!

Kids – best of all, at night, you get to gather with all of Camp for one giant activity—a.k.a. Special Events & Night Activities. Special Events at Huawni are the icing on the cake!

Daily Activities

Critter - the #1 fan favorite for 48 years running…jump...bounce…fly high...get wet.
Trolley - Madeleine (1st yr at camp) soars down the Trolley, our 200 foot zip line!
The Giant Water Slide- race like a bobsledder and be launched into the Critter Pond. Kelly (1st yr at camp) enjoyed the slide so much in her first week that she came back for two more weeks!
Swim - the coolest spot at Camp!
Obstacle Course - race through the Pineywoods and beat your personal best OC time! Zachary (1st yr, 2nd gen camper) leads the Tejas across the foot bridge.
Archery - learn to arch like Robin Hood on our renovated, 14 target archery course. Tanner (6 yrs at camp, 2nd generation camper) pulls back looking for a bullseye.
Canoes - Tucker (7 yrs at camp, 2nd generation camper) paddles hard trying to win individual comp at canoes.
Arts and Crafts - create your own love letter box, the mail delivery system at Camp that shouts encouragement to and from campers and counselors. Zoe (1st yr) does face art.
Frisbee Golf - you may find a love for frisbee golf once you play the scenic Huawni Pines course, established in 2003. Claire (9 yrs at camp) smiles during an after supper round.
Hot Shot Basketball - how many points can you score in one minute? Amber (4 yrs at camp) eyes a free throw.
Horseshoes is one of Huawni's most time-tested summer camp activities that kids like Sam (2nd yr at camp) can't get enough of.
Zulu (a.k.a. dodgeball) on the front lawn is a rush, especially when it's just your cabin vs. your counselors!
Sand Volleyball - learn or excel….campers at Huawni crave volleyball. Tori (7 yrs at camp) vollies during an after supper pick up game.
Wiffleball - Did you know the 'Wiffleball' was originally manufactured for the Huawni Wiffleball World Series? Sam (2nd yrs at camp) looks for an extra-base hit for his Red Caddo.
Ultimate Frisbee - working out has never been so much fun, plus you learn how to actually throw a frisbee. Luke (2 yrs at camp) winds up for a big launch.
Soccer - Huawni soccer is epic… Anna (7 yrs at Camp) dribbles down the field in her Tejas war paint during Tribal Competition.
Tennis - renovated in 2012, the Huawni Tennis court is home to the Huawni Tennis Academy - an alternative to a legit tennis camp but way more fun. Jasmin (1st yr at camp) works on her backhand.
Hiking - Bear Grills actually named Camp Huawni his favorite outdoor camp (just kidding, but our hiking trails are an adventure!).
Running - trail runs at Huawni are usually accompanied by white tail deer and sunsets, simply peaceful.

What Other Stuff Do I Get To Do?

Just like Grandma, we’ve got an unlimited supply of summer fun recipes, so we never serve you the same stuff over and over again. Special days and special activities (ex. Phantom’s Playday or Hike to the Carving Trees) are sprinkled throughout your schedule every few days to keep things spontaneous.

What Are Those Special Events?
